Hi everyone,
My name is Julie Rodriguez and I am the INSPIRE teacher at Twality Middle School. This is my fourth year at Twality and my eleventh year working in education! I will be your teacher for most of the school year. I will be taking maternity leave in October to spend time with my son, Bobby, who was born in June. I will return in January. Melissa Chapman will be teaching in my place during my leave. A little about me... I was born and raised in the small beach town of San Clemente, in Southern California. I am a first generation college graduate. I graduated from UC Irvine with my B.A. in History and received my single subject license from UC Irvine as well. Currently I am working on my masters in Educational Leadership at the University of Oregon. I moved to Portland about 4 years ago and have enjoyed exploring all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Prior to joining the Twality team, I worked for PPS as a paraeducator and a high school credit recovery teacher. Back in California I worked for the YMCA of Orange County, running Middle School after school programs. I greatly enjoy working with the middle school population, promoting community outreach and social justice, self-advocacy and social responsibility. During my free time my family and I enjoy hiking, camping, watching Dodger games (our nephew is named Kershaw after pitcher Clayton Kershaw) baking, and playing with our dog Yoda. |
